KATHMANDU: Former Prime Minister and Nepali Communist Party (NCP) Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal has urged the government to make immediate arrangements to rescue people affected by a landslide in Thabang, Rolpa.
In a statement issued on Thursday, Dahal urged the government to rescue people affected by the disaster immediately, provide treatment to the injured, and arrange relief and appropriate compensation for the affected families.
Three people were killed and nine others have gone missing after a landslide swept a settlement in Thabang of Rolpa on Wednesday night.
Dahal expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and wished for a speedy recovery of the injured.
“I would like to draw the serious attention of the concerned authorities to the fact that roads have been blocked due to landslides in various places along the Mid-Hills Highway, including Eastern Rukum, leaving passengers stranded and disrupting daily life,” he said. “I draw the attention of the relevant authorities to immediately rescue the citizens affected by the disaster, treat the injured, and provide relief and appropriate compensation to the victim families.”
