Suhang Nembang, Tek Bahadur Gurung attend first House meeting

KATHMANDU: Suhang Nembang of CPN-UML and Tek Bahadur Gurung of Nepali Congress (NC) attended their first meeting of the House of Representatives on Friday.

Nembang was elected to the House of Representatives in the by-elections in the Ilam-2 constituency held on April 27. He was administered the oath of office and secrecy on Wednesday.

Gurung, meanwhile, was elected from the Manang constituency in the November 2022 election. Although he was sworn in as a Member of the House of Representatives on December 22, 2022, he was suspended on December 27, 2022, as a corruption case against him was sub-judice.

Following his suspension, he couldn’t attend the first meeting of the House of Representatives on January 9, 2023.

A division bench of Justices Manoj Kumar Sharma and Binod Sharma lifted his suspension on April 24, 2024.

The winter session of parliament ended on April 18, 2023.
