Road accident claims five of a Nepali family in India

KATHMANDU: Five members of a family from Surkhet, Karnali Province, died in a road accident in Karnataka State, India, on Thursday night.

The deceased have been identified as Ratan Newar (27) and his wife Asmita (25), their two young sons – Milan (5) and Dhadkan (2) – and sister-in-law Susmita of Amala Takura in Chaukune Rural Municipality-7 of Surkhet, according to Khadga BK, the chairman of the rural municipality.

The family left for Karnataka State, India, for employment a year ago.

“All five were on a motorbike when a truck hit them. All five died on the spot,” BK said. “They will be cremated in India itself.”
