Rhino, tiger found dead in CNP

KATHMANDU: A tiger and a rhinoceros have been found dead in Amaltari and Sauraha areas of Chitwan National Park (CNP).

Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, the information officer of CNP said a male tiger was found dead on the bank of Narayani river in Amaltari area on Wednesday afternoon. According to Neupane, the 15-year-old tiger died of natural causes.

This is the first tiger death in the current fiscal year.

Similarly, a rhinoceros was found dead near Sauraha under the jurisdiction of Kachuwani post on Wednesday. According to Tiwari, the rhinoceroes died due to tiger attack. The rhino’s horn and hooves are intact.

This is the eighth death of rhinos in CNP in the current fiscal year.
