KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has urged the top leaders of the three major political parties to collaborate in strengthening the democratic system.
President Paudel held a meeting with Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, and CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli at the Office of the President on Friday.
According to officials at the Office of the President, the President brought the attention of the senior leaders to important issues such as the implementation of federalism, good governance, and the urgent need to draft crucial laws to empower the provinces, among other matters.
He also requested the leaders to appoint a capable leader at Tribhuvan University by prioritizing merit over partisan interests.
