KATHMANDU: Important documents of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and other government agencies have been left discarded on the Kaiser Mahal premises in Kathmandu.

Deepak Sharma, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, said the ministry left unnecessary documents on Kaiser Mahal premises when the ministry shifted inside the government’s administrative zone in Singha Durbar.

“We had removed some items from Kaiser Mahal Library after the 2015 earthquakes. Documents of the education ministry, UNESCO Secretariat, and Department of Money Laundering Investigation, which occupied the premises in successive years, have stockpiled on Kaiser Mahala premises,” he said, adding: “We will sort these documents and destroy those which we don’t need any longer.”

One can see piles of applications, letters, books and bank vouchers, among other documents, on Kaiser Mahal premises.
