One dead, five injured as ambulance collides with school van

KATHMANDU: One person died and five others, including two students, were injured when a school van collided with an ambulance in Devchuli of Nawalparasi East on Monday.

According to the District Police Office, Nawalparasi East, the ambulance collided head-on with the van of Divhya Academy Boarding School at Dumkoli Chowk in Devchuli-2.

DSP Madhu Nepal, the information officer at the District Police Office, Nawalparasi East, said the driver of the school van, Kul Prasad Subedi (52) from Devchuli-1, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at Chitwan Medical College Teaching Hospital in Bharatpur, Chitwan.

Other injured are also receiving treatment in Bharatpur.
