KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index posted a marginal gain of 5.36 points on Friday, closing the last trading of the week at 2,838.40 points.
Although Nepse moved into the red and hit an intraday low of 2,809.49 after posting initial gains, it recovered and eventually closed the session 0.18% higher.
Unit prices of 150 scrips declined during the session, while 108 advanced and 12 remained unchanged. Total turnover fell to Rs 7.46 billion, with 18.06 million units traded through 96,573 transactions. Five scrips hit the 10% positive circuit during the session.
National Hydropower Company Ltd posted the highest turnover of the session with shares worth Rs 668.63 million traded. Solu Hydropower Ltd and Ridi Power Company Ltd were next with turnovers of Rs 372.66 million and Rs 340.24 million, respectively.
Among trading groups, five posted gains while the remaining eight ended the session in the red. Manufacturing & Processing posted the highest gain of 1.4%, while the biggest loss came from the Non-life Insurance sub-index, which fell 0.51%.
