KATHMANDU: Young Nepali musician Saurav Sharma has been honored with the Youth Goodwill Ambassador Honor at MALHAR 2026 – Connecting Youth with the Soul of Classical Music.
Indian Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan honored Sharma during the event organised by AntarHriday Connect Global Foundation in New Delhi, India, last week.
“His recognition demonstrates how young people can become the bridges of friendship between Bharat and other countries, using music and culture to promote understanding, harmony and goodwill,” Radhakrishnan said at the event. “Music is one of India’s greatest forms of soft power. It transcends language and borders and creates bonds between people without the need for translation.”
Chief Patron of the AntarHriday Connect Global Foundation, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, said during the event that Sharma is a regular visitor to the Sri Sathya Sai Ashram in Puttaparthi, where he has performed music on multiple occasions, including in the divine presence of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. “This reflects yet another profound cultural and spiritual bond between Nepal and India,” he added.
MALHAR 2026 brought together young audiences and prominent classical artistes, including vocalist Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar and Kathak exponent Pt. Rajendra Gangani.
