KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged domestic and foreign investors to invest confidently in Nepal.
Speaking at the inauguration of the 2025 Koshi Investment Summit, organized by the Koshi Province Government in Biratnagar, on Thursday, Oli said Nepal offers immense investment potential due to its cultural, religious and tourism sectors. He urged administrative bodies to focus on mobilizing both domestic and foreign investments.
“Infrastructure such as roads and bridges is being developed, enabling investors to invest with confidence. The government will ensure that investors will face no obstacle and is ready to provide necessary cooperation and coordination,” he added.
Stating that Koshi Province is connected to road networks and has all necessary infrastructure, Oli said a six-lane East-West Highway of Asian standards in the province will be ready by the time investors bring their products to market. “We must focus on producing high-quality goods by importing raw materials if needed. Therefore, we can identify new possibilities in every sector.”
The Prime Minister also assured investors that the government is committed to respecting labor in line with International Labour Organization standards, fostering dialogue between employers and workers, and protecting trade union rights.
