POKHARA: A moving passenger bus was destroyed after it caught fire at Pumdibhumdi along the Siddhartha Highway on Tuesday evening.
According to the Ward Police Office, Baidam, the bus caught fire near Thulibidi in Pokhara-22 while en route to Syangja.
Preliminary investigation suggests the fire broke out due to a short circuit in the vehicle’s wiring system, police say.
Although the fire suddenly engulfed the bus, there were no human casualties as all the passengers managed to get off the bus in time.
The bus was returning to Waling, Syangja, after a trip to Panchakot in Baglung.
Further investigation into the case is underway, according to police.
