KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Center) has made significant changes to the responsibilities of its office-bearers. Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal made the announcements during the central committee meeting of the party.
According to the announcement, Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma will now take charge as the in-charge of Bagmati Province, while another Deputy Secretary General, Barsha Man Pun, has been assigned the responsibility of overseeing the Special Province. Similarly, Secretary Devendra Poudel has been appointed as the in-charge of Madhesh Province.
The party has also assigned important roles to other leaders in various provinces. Matrika Yadav has been named in-charge of Lumbini Province, Dilliram Acharya will be responsible for Sudurpashchim Province, Lilamani Pokharel has been entrusted with Koshi Province, and Chandra Prakash Khanal will take the lead in Karnali Province.
Earlier, Ganesh Shah was in-charge of Madhesh Province, Ram Karki handled Koshi Province, Hitman Shakya was responsible for Bagmati Province, Hitraj Pandey was in charge of Gandaki Province, Chakrapani Khanal was assigned to Lumbini Province, Kali Bahadur Malla oversaw Karnali Province, and Khagraj Bhatt was responsible for Sudurpashchim Province.
Maoist Center sources say preparations are ongoing to change the responsibilities of other office-bearers as well.
