Man arrested on the charge of murder of son, rape of daughter

KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man on the charge of killing his son who had filed a rape complaint against him.

According to DIG Bhim Prasad Dhakal, the spokesperson for Nepal Police, the man was arrested from Kailali of Tikapur on Thursday morning.

Police were searching for the man after body of a youth with deep injuries caused by sharp weapon was found near the animal shed of the man’s house on Monday. The deceased has been identified as the man’s son. Police have also recovered an used to commit the crime.

Police say the deceased had file a complaint with the police claiming that the his father had raped his own daughter in September. The deceased knew about the incident after his sister confided with him, police say. Outraged, the man then killed his son. His second has son filed a complaint against the police for the murder of his brother.

Police have not disclosed name of the decreased as accused to protect identity of the rape victim.
