KATHMANDU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Chairman Rajendra Lingden has criticized the government for showing indifference to people who have walked all the way to Kathmandu to draw government attention to their demands.

Speaking in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Friday, Lingden said the government, instead of addressing the concerns of loan shark victims, instructed them to seek recourse through the courts. He also mentioned that the government has continuously ignored the demands of microfinance creditors and dairy farmers.

He further criticized the government’s lack of concern for Nepalis serving in the Russian Army. “Instead of taking initiatives to rescue Nepali youths from Russia, the government is reluctant even to meet with their families and provide assurance,” he added.

Lingden emphasized that there is no point in continuing the House session if the government cannot address these concerns. “The house meeting cannot proceed unless the government provides a concrete response to these issues,” he added.
