KATHMANDU: Chief Minister of Karnali Province, Rajkumar Sharma, has expanded his cabinet.
Sharma, the parliamentary party leader of CPN (Maoist Center), was administered the oath of office and secrecy on January 11 with two ministers. He inducted four new ministers in his cabinet on Tuesday.
CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) have taken three ministries each. UML has joined Sharma’s government under the leadership of Binod Kumar Shah who has been given financial affairs and planning ministry. While Tekraj Pachhai has assumed office at the social development ministry, Jit Bahadur Malla has been appointed Minister for Industry, Tourism and Environment.
Similarly, Maoist Center’s Mangal Bahadur Sahi has been given physical infrastructure, energy and water resources portfolio. Bhim Prakash Sharma is the Minister for Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives, while Krishna Bahadur GC has assumed office at the internal affairs and law ministry.
