JSP picks Manju Ansari to fill vacant HoR seat

KATHMANDU: Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) has decided that Manju Ansari will be filling the vacant seat in the House of Representatives (HoR).

The meeting of the party’s executive committee held in Kathmandu on Thursday took a decision to this end, according to party spokesperson Manish Suman.

The seat has been lying vacant following the demise of lawmaker Shahanaz Rahman who was elected to the House of Representatives through the proportionate representation system from the Muslim community.

Ansari was the second candidate from the Muslim community after Rahman in the closed list of candidates submitted by the JSP to the Election Commission.

Rahman passed away after suffering heart attack in Bhaktapur on February 25.
