JSP lawmaker passes away

KATHMANDU: Shahanaz Rahman, a Member of the House of Representatives and Central Committee member of the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP), passed away on Saturday.

According to party sources, Rahman suddenly collapsed while chatting with friends at a picnic in Ghyampedanda, Bhaktapur. She was rushed to Madhyapur Thimi Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Rahman was elected to the House of Representatives under the proportional representation system. She had previously served as the Chief of the party’s women’s wing – Women’s Forum.
