JSP lawmaker Ansari passes away

KATHMANDU: Member of the House of Representatives, Manju Sharma Ansari, of Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) passed away on Sunday.

According to JSP, Ansari passed away while undergoing treatment at Civil Hospital on Sunday morning.

Ansari was made a member of the lower house on April 2 last year after Shahnaz Rahman, who was elected to the House of Representatives under proportionate representation from the Muslim quota, passed away on February 25 that year.

JSP sources say Ansari entered politics by joining Nepal Sadbhavana Party in the 1990s.
