Govt decides to bring laws to address problems in cooperative sector

KATHMANDU: The government has decided to immediately initiate the process to address the problems seen in the cooperative sector.

The cabinet meeting held in Singha Durbar on Thursday decided to make necessary legal arrangements to resolve the problems faced by cooperative depositors, according to Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communication and Information Technology Rekha Sharma.

Similarly, the meeting decided to appoint Judge Sudharshan Dev Bhatta of the Patan High Court as the chairperson of the Appellate Committee of the Kathmandu Valley Development Authority, authorizing him to oversee the court’s proceedings as well.

Likewise, the meeting decided to direct the concerned authorities to minimize the damage caused by fires occurring in various parts of the country and to control such incidents immediately, said Sharma.

Regarding the 2024 Nepal Investment Summit, Sharma said the cabinet decided to make all possible efforts to convert the enthusiasm shown by foreign investors into actual investments.
