FNCCI planning to establish an investment company: Dhakal

KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) is taking initiative to form an investment company to channel investments from industrialists and businesspeople across the country into meaningful projects.

Addressing the general convention of the Birgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industries on Monday, FNCCI Chairperson Chandra Prasad Dhakal said the fund would mobilize investments from industrialists, businesspeople, and the general public throughout the country and invest in different projects. The authorized capital of the proposed fund will be Rs 10 billion, according to Dhakal.

“Industrialists and businesspeople not under the umbrella of FNCCI can also invest in the fund,” Dhakal added.

On the occasion, Dahal also mentioned that the apex body of the Nepali private sector was taking necessary initiatives for the improvement of the economic situation of the country. “We are seeing problems as political parties do not have common viewpoints on economic agendas,” he added.

Dhakal also said that FNCCI was trying to seek solidarity of all political parties on economic agendas during its general convention scheduled for next month.”
