KATHMANDU: Anjan Shrestha has formally assumed leadership of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) with the election of a new Executive Committee on Wednesday.
Shrestha, who was Senior Vice President in the outgoing Executive Committee led by Chandra Prasad Dhakal, has been automatically elevated to the President. FNCCI presidents from now onward will have to be elected through elections.
The election held on Tuesday elected Krishna Prasad Sharma and Dil Sundar Shrestha as Vice President-Industry/Commerce, Naresh Lal Shrestha as Vice President-Commodity, and Prabal Jung Shrestha as Vice President-Associate.
Similarly, 14 Executive Members were elected from the Province Group. They include: Jivan Parajuli and Ramesh Bishwakarma from Koshi, Amarnath Sah and Bikas Jumar Sarda from Madhesh, Prakash Manandhar and Sabin Shrestha from Bagmati, Pabitra Kumar Shrestha and Subin Shrestha from Gandaki, Yagya Prasad Bhattarai and Bal Krishna Subedi from Lumbini, Padam Bahadur Shahi and Puri Chandra Devkota from Karnali, and Pitambar Joshi has been elected.
Likewise, 15 Executive Committee members are elected from the Industry Commerce Group. They include: Arjun Kumar Shrestha, Ujjwal Prasad Kasaju, Keshav Prasad Bhandari, Krishna Katuwal, Gokul Shrestha, Chhatradhar Atreya, Tara Bahadur Karki, Prayas Shrestha, Mohan Prasad Shrestha, Laxman Raj Paudel, Shankar Giri, Santosh Khadka, Sudarshan Karki, Gita Amatya and Hira Bhattarai.
Thirteen Executive Committee members were elected from the Commodity Group. They include: Araniko Rajbhandari, Naniraj Ghimire, Pashupati Dev Pandey, Bidur Dhamala, Bhakta Bahadur Hamal, Rabin Puri, Rajkumar Karki, Lilendra Prasad Pradhan, Sangharsh Bista and Sagar Dhakal, Hom Prasad Ghimire, Sunita Nhyemhaphuki, Bishwa Nath Khanal and Sunaina Ghimire.
Similarly, 17 members were elected to the Executive Committee from the Associate Group. They include: Ambika Prasad Paudel, Ishwar Bahadur GC, Ujjwal Kumar Shrestha, Rishi Agrawal, Krishna Lal Maharjan, Diwas Neupane, Priyaraj Regmi, Batu Lamichhane, Babu Kaji Karki, Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, Ram Sharan Bhandari, Shakti Kumar Begani, Sachin Dhakal, Suyash Pyakurel, Suraj Upreti, Sushil Thapa, Hemant Golchha, Abhigya Malla and Juna Mathema.
Similarly, Manoj Paudel has been elected to the Executive Committee from the bi-national chamber group, and Gopal Shrestha and Suman Kumar Shrestha from the Founder Members’ Group.
