Farmers busy harvesting paddy [In Pictures]

KATHMANDU: Farmers are busy harvesting paddy in different parts of Kathmandu Valley.

While urbanization continues to encroach upon farmland, there still exist pockets of space in the suburbs where farmers cultivate paddy. Farmers can be observed engaged in a variety of tasks, from cutting paddy stalks to threshing, winnowing, and keeping the harvested paddy dry under the sun.

Paddy is a major crop in Nepal contributing to around 7% of the gross domestic production (GDP).
