KATHMANDU: Embassy of Pakistan in Kathmandu on Tuesday gave away awards to the winners of the 10th Annual Ambassador of Pakistan Essay Writing Competition and 6th Annual Ambassador of Pakistan Speech Competition.
Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Abrar H Hashmi, gave away the awards.
The topic for essay writing this year was ‘SAARC – How can it be used for Regional Prosperity’.
Students securing first, second and third positions in the essay writing competition were presented with gold, silver and bronze medals, respectively, along with souvenir and cash prizes, according to a statement issued by the embassy. “The next ten best students were also presented with consolation cash prizes.”
Similarly, the top three winners of the speech competition on ‘Impact of Climate Change on our Livelihood – Common Challenge to South Asia’ bagged gold, silver, and bronze medals, respectively, along with souvenirs and cash prizes. Similarly, the next thirteen best students received souvenirs and cash prizes, according to the statement.
Top three winners of both competitions received cash prize of Rs 40,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 25,000, respectively.
Students from 38 higher secondary schools and universities participated in the two competitions.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Hashmi praised the participating students for their critical thinking and called on them to embrace the challenges of the future.
