Embassy of India celebrates 75th Republic Day

KATHMANDU: The Embassy of India in Kathmandu observed the 75th Republic Day of India by organizing various programs on Friday.

The Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Naveen Srivastava, commenced the celebrations by hoisting the Indian flag on the embassy premises on Friday morning. On the occasion, he extended greetings to the Indian diaspora in Nepal and read out the Republic Day message of Indian President Draupadi Murmu.

In his message, Srivastava mentioned that the visit of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal to India in May-June was a milestone in India’s Neighborhood First policy. “Prime Minister Dahal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi took several decisions to provide impetus to our ties and to make our partnership ‘SuperHIT,'” Srivastava said.

On the occasion, the embassy distributed books worth Rs 1.9 million to 30 different organizations.

Children from Kendriya Vidyalaya and Vivekananda Cultural Center performed cultural presentations during the event.
