Eight dead in Palpa jeep accident: Police

KATHMANDU: At least eight individuals died when a passenger jeep met with an accident in Palpa district on Tuesday afternoon, police say.

According to DIG Kuber Kadayat, the chief of Lumbini Provincial Police, the jeep heading to Chidibas in Tinahu Rural Municipality-6 from Dumre on the Siddhartha Highway met with an accident near Chidibas. “We have received information that there were 23 passengers in the jeep. All eight died on the spot,” Kadayat said.

Police and locals are involved in the rescue operation, he added.
