Deuba urges national consensus to complete remaining tasks of federalism

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the remaining tasks of federalism should be completed through a national consensus.

Unveiling the statue of the late party leader Raj Kishor Singh Rajput in Aurahi Rural Municipality-4 in Dhanusha on Monday, Deuba stated that a national consensus is necessary to strengthen federalism by addressing concerns raised by different provinces.

Deuba was referring to Madhesh Province Government’s appeal for the enactment of essential legislation hindering the restructuring of the police force in line with the principles of federalism.

During the event, he urged party leaders and cadres to exert more effort in fortifying the party organization, respecting the contributions of the late Rajput. “Late Rajput is a valuable asset to the party. His absence has resulted in an irreparable loss to the party and the democratic movement,” expressed Deuba.
