CCA holds inter-college essay competition

KATHMANDU: Sandesh Bashyal of Nepal Mega College has won the CCA Inter-College Essay Competition organized by the Certified College of Accountancy (CCA).
Shishir Gautam of St Xavier College was the first runner-up, while Farheen Banu of Manaslu World College was declared second runner-up, a statement issued by CCA said.
The winner received a cash prize of Rs 30,000 as well as a CCA discount of Rs 25,000, while the first and second runners-up took home Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively, as well as CCA discounts worth Rs 25,000 each.
Of the 18 participants, 10 were shortlisted for the final round. In the final round, the participants were asked to write an 800-word essay on ‘The Role of youth in Shaping the Future of Nepal and the Need for their Engagement in the Decision-making Process’ in an hour.
According to the statement, Ravin Katwal, ACCA Nepal Head graced the event as the chief guest, while Raj Kumar Gurung was the judge.
The event was supported by ACCA Nepal.
Manish Sharma, executive director of CCA, said the essay competition will help promote curiosity in young minds and make them research-oriented.
