KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the preparation of policies and programs, and the budget for the upcoming fiscal year has reached its final stages.

Speaking at a program organized to mark the 22nd anniversary of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (NAMS) on Sunday, Dahal assured that the demands of NAMS would be addressed in the government’s policies and programs, and budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

Dahal, who is also the Chancellor of NAMS, stated that the academy would be successful in addressing the nation’s needs by providing quality services to the general public. “The government will equip NAMS with the required workforce and equipment, and allocate a sufficient budget to transform Bir Hospital into a center of hope and trust for the general public,” he added.

He also mentioned that the works of the first phase of the master plan for the expansion of Bir Hospital – constructing a 500-bed hospital and a medical college – would be expedited.

Bir Hospital has readied a master plan to build a 1,500-bed hospital in Duwakot.
