KATHMANDU: Anita Devi Sah of the Janamat Party has been sworn in as a minister in the government led by Pushpa Kamal Dahal.
President Ram Chandra Poudel administered the oath of office and secrecy to Sah on Monday. However, she has not yet been assigned any responsibilities.
With this development, the Janamat Party has rejoined the government nearly four months after it quit, expressing dissatisfaction over the allocation of ministerial portfolios.
Since Dahal’s cabinet already had 25 members, the maximum limit allowed by the constitution, the CPN (Maoist Center) on Sunday decided to recall Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration, Aman Lal Modi.
Sah was elected to the House of Representatives under the proportional representation system from the Madhesi People cluseter.
