KATHMANDU: Members of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) parliamentary party will contribute an additional Rs 15,000 each to the Prime Minister Relief Fund.
According to RSP Chief Whip Kabindra Burlakoti, the proposal for the additional contribution was put forward following an informal discussion among parliamentary party officials. He said the fresh contribution would total around Rs 2.71 million if each member contributes a minimum of Rs 15,000.
The RSP has already decided to contribute Rs 5 million to the Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund.
Burlakoti said the party’s contribution also includes the amount deducted from the monthly levies paid by RSP lawmakers. He added that some lawmakers have announced to make personal contributions to the fund.
