Fourth batch of relief supplies arrives from China

KATHMANDU: The fourth batch of emergency relief supplies sent by China arrived in Kathmandu on Tuesday.

The supplies arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport on Tuesday afternoon aboard a Y-20A large-capacity transport aircraft.

Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zhang Maoming handed over the relief supplies to Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation Mahabir Pun.

According to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Kathmandu, the supplies include hovercraft for rescue operations, stainless steel permanent-magnet flood pumps, additional batteries, freezers for preserving bodies and solar-powered lights.

The Chinese embassy said the supplies had been sent in response to Nepal’s immediate needs.
