KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane met with Prime Minister Balendra Shah on Monday.
The meeting held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers focused on the government’s ongoing search, rescue, and relief distribution efforts in areas affected by the Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa.
According to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, the two also held discussions on the rescue of victims, distribution of relief for people affected by the disaster, and the reconstruction of damaged infrastructure.
Prime Minister Shah informed Lamichhane that government agencies had been mobilized at full capacity to protect lives and property, ensure easy access to relief materials, and carry out rehabilitation efforts in the disaster-affected areas.
The August 26 flash flood in the Bhotekoshi River, known as the Trishuli downstream, has claimed 903 lives as of Monday afternoon, while more than 4,200 people are still missing.
