KATHMANDU: The second edition of the NAIMA Nepal Mobility Expo kicked off at Bhrikuti Mandap, Kathmandu, on Tuesday.
The six-day expo has brought together more than 55 international automotive brands showcasing more than 40 new vehicle models.
Inspector General of Nepal Police Dan Bahadur Karki inaugurated the expo organized by the Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association (NAIMA) amid a ceremony on Tuesday. The expo will continue till August 16.
According to the organizers, this year’s event will be larger and more diverse compared to the previous edition. It features new electric and hybrid vehicles alongside conventional and premium models, it added.
As many as 26 four-wheeler, 18 two-wheeler and eight commercial vehicle brands are participating in the event
The exhibition brings compact electric vehicles, premium sport utility vehicles, smart scooters and city buses under one roof.
The expo also comes ahead of the Dashain-Tihar festival season, traditionally a busy period for vehicle sales in Nepal.
According to the organizers, the event is expected to provide consumers with an opportunity to compare vehicles and technologies while giving automakers and dealers a platform to introduce new products to the Nepali market.
