KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) Central Discipline Committee has decided to put on hold the disciplinary action process against former Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka.
The committee made the decision, concluding that the matter had lost its relevance following a recent Supreme Court ruling, and therefore, there was no need to proceed further.
The disciplinary action was initiated after Khadka issued statements in the party’s official letterhead using the ‘Acting President’ designation. Similarly, it had sought a three-day
Meanwhile, the committee has decided to suspend Purna Bahadur Tamang, aka Kanchharam, the president of the party’s Ramchhap District Committee, from his position. The committee has said that the decision was taken as Tamang’s clarification was found unsatisfactory and further investigation was required. “The suspension has been imposed until a final decision is made, as his continued role as president could affect the investigation,” the committee said.
The committee has also instructed party leaders and candidates accused of violating party discipline during the House of Representatives elections to submit clarifications within seven days.
