‘Aa Bata Aama’ celebrates 51st day of screening

KATHMANDU: Aa Bata Aama, an emotional drama directed by Chandra Pant, celebrated its 51st day of screening on Sunday.

Organizing a special ceremony in Kathmandu, the production team honored the film’s technical crew and actors with appreciation certificates.

Speaking on the occasion, Pant said the year’s blockbuster has been screened in over 20 theatres across the country for 51 days.

According to the latest box office data released by the Nepal Film Development Board, the film has earned Rs 130 million so far, making it the year’s second-highest grosser after Paran.

The film, with a story and screenplay written by Pant himself, features dialogues by Amar Neupane, Abhimanyu Nirabi, and Chandra Pant. The cast includes Bipana Thapa, Pradeep Rawat, Pal Shah, Simran Pant, Saigracre Pokhrel, Usha Upreti, Ravindra Jha, Gajit Bista, Rachana Gautam, Begum Nepali, and others.

Riding on its commercial success, the production team has already announced a sequel to the film. According to Pant, the sequel will release during the Dashain festival (September-October). Actor Pal Shah is confirmed to return for the sequel, while other cast members are yet to be finalised, he added.

While the first part focused on the relationship between parents and their son, the second part is expected to follow a different storyline, according to the production team.
