KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has prorogued the National Assembly session effective Friday midnight.
A Cabinet meeting held on February 9 had decided to recommend that the President prorogue the session.
The session had convened on January 18.
“President Ram Chandra Paudel has prorogued the National Assembly session effective Friday midnight as per Article 93(2) of the Constitution of Nepal, 2015, on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers,” read a press statement issued by Ritesh Kumar Shakya, the Spokesperson for the Office of the President.
