KATHMANDU: The Special Court has remanded suspended Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), Pradip Adhikari, to judicial custody for trial.
A division bench of Judges Hemanta Rawal, Dilli Ratra Shrestha and Bidur Koirala issued the order after hearing a case related to irregularities in the construction of a heliport in Nalinchowk of Bhaktapur.
Similarly, the bench decided to release CAAN Director Murahari Bhandari, who was arrested along with Adhikari, for a bail of Rs 500,000.
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) arrested the two on Wednesday and filed a charge sheet on the same day.
While the hearing was underway, CIAA filed another corruption case against Adhikari and 55 others, alleging irregularities in the construction of Pokhara International Airport.
