JANAKPURDHAM: The newly-appointed Chief Minister of Madhesh Province, Krishna Prasad Yadav, has expanded his cabinet with three ministers.
On Sunday, Yadav appointed a representative each from his party, Nepali Congress (NC), as well as coalition partners Janamat Party and CPN (Unified Socialist) in the Madhesh cabinet.
Yadav has appointed Mahesh Yadav of the Janamat Party as the Minister for Finance, while Jangilal Ray of the NC and Kanish Patel of the Unified Socialist have, for now, been appointed as ministers without portfolio.
All three newly-appointed ministers took the oath of office and secrecy on Sunday. Province Chief Dr Surendra Labh administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new ministers.
Yadav is leading a coalition government of six parties. As per the understanding reached with coalition partners, NC will have the Chief Minister and two ministers, while the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Nepal will get the position of Speaker and two ministries. Nepali Communist Party (NCP), which includes CPN (Maoist Center) and Unified Socialist, will get three ministers, while Janamat and LSP will get two each.
