KATHMANDU: Palestinian militant group Hamas has confirmed that Nepali national Bipion Joshi is no longer alive.
In a statement issued on Monday, Hamas’s armed wing, the Qassam Brigades, said four captives – Bipin Joshi, Guy Ilouz, Yossi Sharabi and Daniel Perez – are not alive and that their bodies will be delivered later on Monday, according to Qatari news outlet Al Jazeera.
The Qassam Brigades said it will hand over the bodies to Israel later on Monday.
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) told the Nepali ambassador in Israel and Bipin’s family on Monday morning that the Nepali national is no longer alive.
Bipin was taken hostage by Hamas following their attack on Israel in October 2023.
