ITHARI: The seventh session of the Koshi Provincial Assembly will conclude on Friday midnight.
Province Head Parshuram Khapung prorogued the house session on the recommendation of the Provincial Council of Ministers on Friday
According to provincial cabinet sources, the recommendation to prorogue the budget session was taken since most of the regular agenda of the provincial government has already been completed.
Earlier, the 40th meeting of the Koshi Provincial Assembly held on August 31 had been adjourned until further notice. However, after an unruly group set fire to the provincial assembly building and secretariat during the Gen Z protests on September 9, the continuation of the meetings had become uncertain.
Meanwhile, the Koshi Province Government is looking for alternative venues for the provincial assembly. The Birendra City Hall in Biratnagar and the Agricultural Market building in Katahari Rural Municipality have been proposed as potential venues for the assembly and secretariat.
