KATHMANDU: The Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) has decided to reshuffle its ministers in the government.

The party has decided to recall Pradip Yadav and Nawal Kishor Sah Sudi and replace them with Birendra Mahato and Ranjukumari Jha, according to JSP Vice-Chairperson Parshuram Basnet.

He said that the names have already been submitted to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.

The JSP has said that it was implementing an earlier decision to change ministers after one year of tenure.

Yadav is the Minister for Water Supply, while Sudi is serving as the Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens in Oli’s cabinet.

According Basnet, Mahato will replace Yadav, while Jha will take Sudi’s place.

Oli had earlier requested coalition partners to recommend ministerial changes based on “performance” after the government completed its first year. Following this, the Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) Nepal has already submitted its names. According to sources, the LSP Nepal plans to recall Minister for Labor, Employment and Social Security Sharat Singh Bhandari and replace him with Sarbendra Nath Shukla.

Similarly, the UML is also preparing to recall four of its ministers. However, the party has not finalized the names, according to a leader.

Nepali Congress (NC), however, has decided not to change its ministers. NC sources say  President Sher Bahadur Deuba is not in favor of changing ministers  due to the ongoing internal factional issues in the party.
