Group A matches of AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers rescheduled

KATHMANDU: Nepal will take on Bhutan in the opening match of the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand 2026 Qualifiers in Thimpu on August 6 as per the revised schedule published by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

The schedule of Group A was revised after Mongolia pulled out from the event. Saudi Arabia and North Korea are the other teams in the group.

According to the updated fixture, Nepal will take on Saudi Arabia on August 8 and North Korea on August 10.

All Group A matches will be held in Bhutan.

The qualification tournament has been split into eight groups. Group B features Vietnam, Kyrgyzstan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Group C includes Australia, Chinese Taipei, Palestine, and Tajikistan.

In Group D, Myanmar, India, Indonesia, and Turkmenistan will vie for qualification, while China, Lebanon, Cambodia, and Syria have been drawn into Group E. Japan, Iran, Malaysia, and Guam make up Group F.

Group G includes Uzbekistan, Jordan, Northern Mariana Islands, and Bahrain. Group H features South Korea, Bangladesh, Laos, and Timor-Leste. Group I remains incomplete in the current announcement.

The final tournament to be held in Thailand from April 1 to 18, 2026, will feature 12 teams. Host nation Thailand has secured automatic qualification, while the remaining 11 teams will be determined through the ongoing qualification rounds.

Eight group winners and three best second-placed teams will qualify for the AFC U20 Women’s Asian Cup Thailand.
