14-year-old’s murder in Rautahat tied to family feud: Police Police unveiling the four accused before the media on Sunday.

KATHMANDU: A long-standing family rivalry has been identified as the motive behind the cold-blooded murder of a 14-year-old boy in Rautahat.

According to the District Police Office, Rautahat, Nagendra Sahani (25) had called Krishna Prasad Yadav (14) from his home on April 18 under the pretext of making TikTok videos.

When Krishna Yadav reached near the Gadhimai Temple on a motorbike with Indian registration, Sahani and another man, going by the moniker Sadhu (22), took him under control and pushed him toward Chandikhola.

“There, Sadhu pushed Yadav to the ground and Sahani shot two times in the chest. The two then fled with Yadav’s motorbike,” police say.

Police have also arrested Bikash Patel of Gaur-4, who bought the motorcycle from Sahani for Rs 5,000, and Anil Sah of Gaur-8, who scrapped the motorcycle for parts.

SP Dilip Ghimire, chief of the District Police Office, Rautahat, said investigations have revealed a deep-seated enmity between the two families.

Sahani’s niece had died three years ago by falling in a pit near the brick kiln operated by Krishna’s father. The family had blamed Krishna’s family for the incident. Additionally, an abduction case had been filed against Nagendra Sahani’s elder brother, Dharmendra Sahani, for allegedly kidnapping Krishna’s father.

“This old feud seems to have led Nagendra to lure Krishna under the pretext of making a TikTok video and then murder him,” SP Ghimire said.
