KATHMANDU:Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba held a meeting with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, in Geneva on Wednesday.
Minister Rana is in Geneva to participate in the 58th session of the Human Rights Council.
During the meeting, discussions were held on Nepal’s active participation and contributions to the Human Rights Council, as well as Nepal’s candidacy for the 2027-2029 term. “We also exchanged views on Nepal’s transitional justice process, climate change, peace, stability and development,” Rana said in a social media post.
Minister Rana also met Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, the Slovak Republic Jurar Blanar, on the sidelines of the 58th Session of the Human Rights Council on Wednesday. “The meeting covered matters related to Nepal and the Slovak Republic relations with a focus on education, trade, investment, climate change and socio-economic development,” she wrote in a social media post after the meeeting.
