KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli left for Beijing on Monday morning for an official visit to China.

Oli is leading a 78-member delegation to China at the invitation of the Chinese Prime Minister traveling with a delegation at the friendly invitation of Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang. A special aircraft of Himalaya Airlines will take the delegation to Beijing.

The delegation consists of 46 delegates from the government and 32 from the private sector.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PM Oli will hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. Similarly, PM Oli will meet with his counterpart Li and exchange views on various matters of mutual interest.

PM Oli is also scheduled to meet Zhao Leji, the chairperson of the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress. He is set to deliver a keynote address at Peking University and address the Nepal-China Trade Forum, jointly organized by the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing and China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor to the PM Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and Development Advisor to the PM, Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada, lawmakers, parliamentarians, high-ranking government officials, private sector representatives, and journalists are in the delegation.

The delegation is returning home on December 5.
