KATHMANDU: Nepali Men’s U-19 team has left for the UAE to participate in the 2024 ACC U-19 Asia Cup.
National Sports Council (NSC) Member Secretary Tankalal Ghising Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Secretary Paras Khadka, among other officials, bade farewell to the team amid a ceremony.
Former spinner Shakti Gauchan is the Head Coach of the U-19 team captained by Hemant DHami.
A total of eight teams are participating in the U-19 Asia Cup. Nepal is placed in Group ‘B’ alongside Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. Similarly, Group ‘A’ consists of India, Pakistan, UAE and Japan.
Nepal will face Sri Lanka on November 29, followed by matches against Bangladesh on December 1 and Afghanistan on December 3.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.
The semifinals will be played on December 6, while the final will be held on December 8 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
