KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) is preparing to host the International Cricket Council (ICC) Board Meeting in Kathmandu.

Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Vice President Roshan Singh told Himal Press over the phone that discussions were underway to host the ICC meeting in Kathmandu.

“There is a possibility that the ICC board meeting will be held in Kathmandu. Discussions are underway to organize the meeting,” Singh told Himal Press.

According to Singh, talks are progressing to hold the ICC meeting in Kathmandu while the Nepal Premier League (NPL) is underway.

“It is a regular ICC meeting, but efforts are being made to organize it during the NPL,” he said.

Singh said holding the meeting during the tournament would allow ICC officials to observe preparations for the NPL and other aspects of Nepal’s cricket development.

“ICC officials want to look into Nepal’s potential in cricket, infrastructure, preparations for the NPL and other issues. If the meeting is held during the NPL, we believe they will get an opportunity to learn about the preparations and other aspects,” he said.

The date, however, has not been finalized.

The third edition of the NPL is scheduled to begin on October 26.
