Nine, including seven from a family, dead in Kaski landslide incidents

KATHMANDU: Nine persons, including seven from a family, died when a landslide swept away their house in Kaski district on Thursday night.

According to the District Police Office, Kaski, Kul Bahadur Pariyar (47), his wife Mana Kumari (43), mother Lakshima (85), daughters Prashana (15) and Prabha (20), son-in-law Ashmit, and Radhika Pariyar died when a landslide swept their house in Puranchaur in Pokhara-19 at 10:15 pm on Thursday.

Six of them were buried in the landslide debris, while Radhika breathed her last while she was being rescued, police said.

Likewise, Anita Ojha (18) and Pratik Subedi (9) died in another landslide incident in Chainpur in Pokhara-32. According to police, Anushka Ojha (11) is missing.
