Republic Day Celebrations in Kathmandu [In Pictures]

KATHMANDU: A special ceremony was organized at the Army Pavilion in Tundikhel on Tuesday to celebrate the 17th Republic Day.

President Ram Chandra Poude, Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Chief Justice Biswambhar Prasad Shrestha, Speaker Devraj Ghimire, National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal attended the ceremony.

The event featured a colorful parade by security personnel, various cultural dances, exhibitions showcasing the local units of the Kathmandu Valley, and a dance performance depicting the cultures of all seven provinces. As usual, flower petals were also showered from army helicopters.

At the ceremony, contingents from the Nepali Army, Nepal Police, and Armed Police Force presented a march past and a joint band performance of patriotic songs.
