KATHMANDU: The newly elected member of the House of Representatives from Ilam-2, Suhang Nembang, was sworn in on Wednesday.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire administered the oath of office and secrecy to the CPN-UML lawmaker amid a ceremony. On the occasion, staffers of the Federal Parliament Secretariat provided Suhang with the emblem of the lawmaker as well as the Constitution of Nepal, and different laws and regulations.
Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, Minister for Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Padam Giri, Minister for Defence Hari Prasad Upreti, chief whips of different political parties, and the Federal Parliament Secretariat’s General Secretary Padam Prasad Pandey, among others, were present at the ceremony.
Suhang was elected to the House of Representatives in the by-polls in the Ilam-2 seat on April 27 by defeating Dambar Bahadur Khadka of the Nepali Congress.
